Julian Lennon was born on April 8, 1963 in Liverpool, England. John Lennon married his pregnant girlfriend on August 23, 1962. They had only been dating for four years before she got pregnant. When John was told he didn't have to marry Cynthia, he said he wanted to marry her because he loved her. Not because she was pregnant. At the urging of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, John's marriage and Cynthia's pregnancy were kept a secret because it was thought at the time his marriage would hurt him among fans. Cynthia had to wear baggy clothes so people wouldn't know she was pregnant. John was on tour with The Beatles throughout Cynthia's pregnancy and the birth of his son. He didn't see his son until a week later. When he saw his son for the first time he said, "Who's going to be a little rocker like his dad"? Julian saw very little of his father. In 1968, John abandoned his first family for Yoko Ono. Meanwhile after Cynthia and John divorced, she later remarried a man named Roberto Bassinini who was a father figure for Julian. He took him to school, on vacation and did things with him John never did. Unfortunately, they were only together for a few years before they split and divorced but Julian remained in touch with Roberto off and on. Julian only saw his father a handful of times for the rest of John's life. Julian was just trying to establish a father/son relationship with his father. They were finally starting to get to know each other when John was murdered on Dec. 8, 1980. Julian came out with his first album Valotte in 1984. It sold one million copies and went platinum. His otherthree albums The Secret Value of Daydreaming, Mr. Jordan and Help Yourself all bombed. Julian blamed this on the recording industry rushing him to writesongs and release new music without letting him rest and have a much need break. Heleft the musicindustry and didn't return for seven long years. In 1998, he released his fifth albumPhotograph Smile. Julian has just completed his new sixth album called Everything Changes. He's also been working on various projects and doing charity events. In 2007, he produced The Whale Dreamers whichwas directed by a long time friend Kim Kindersley. He also attended the Cannes andMorroco Film Festivals. He's been doing a great deal of traveling as well. Julian will be narrating Whale Dreamers and he also has a cameo appearence in the movie. Whale Dreamers was released on DVD in many countries and in theatres in a few selected countries in the fall of 2008. Julian announced on his facebook and myspace pages Everything Changes will be released February/March 2010.
